Hello! I’m a Mendenhall postdoctoral fellow in the U.S. Geological Survey Geologic Hazards Science Center. Here, I investigate the river-landslide interface to understand how rivers trigger landslides and how landslides can lead to cascading downstream hazards.
Prior to joining the USGS, I completed my PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering within the University of Washington Environmental Fluid Mechanics group. My doctoral research investigated feedbacks between river morphodynamics and overbank flooding with a focus on western Washington rivers. I also worked as a Groundwater modeler for the Illinois State Water Survey and graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Physics and Studio Art.
It's my goal to synthesize my scientific and artistic backgrounds to conduct compelling environmental research and disseminate results to multiple audiences.

When I’m not in the lab, you can find me skiing, mountain biking, playing tennis, or competing in a heated game of Bananagrams.
